As a journalist I listen to stories. My ears are attentive and my eyes open. Initially I wanted this blog to be about photography, since I graduated as photo-journalist. But I realized that I wanted to write as well, and I want to incorporate writing in this blog to promote understanding and different points of view on daily life situations when encountering people from other cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

Throughout my encounters with many people in the world I have realized that many misunderstandings are due to misinterpreting the way people communicate –especially when it comes to communicating in a foreign language. I have learned that it is not about the words that are said in well-formulated sentence, but the intended meaning. When we perceive something said as spiteful, we should better listen twice and if necessary ask for a clarification to understand the actual intended meaning.

I hope to change negative points of view into good ones and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to post it.
